In A Meeting
In a meeting - on the phone
Leave a message at the tone
From his desk he’s stepped away
Might return, but just can’t say
She’s gone to lunch and should be back
Of course, of emails she’s a stack
You’ve just missed him, try again
I think he had to catch a train
She’s picked up another line
A conference call, so could take time
He’s off tomorrow, then away
Not sure where, he didn’t say
She had your message – heavy sigh -
And will respond, at least she’ll try
He’s left the firm, replacement due
Just put another email through
She’s in reception with a guest
Mid-afternoon – it might be best
Could be later, don’t know when
Just keep your cool – and count to ten.
