The Happy Brambler

I love to go a-brambling
Along the Poets’ Walk
And as I go I sometimes sing
But hardly ever talk
Val-deri, val-dera
Val-deri, val-dera
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha
Val-deri, val-dera
I hardly ever talk
If walkers ever ask me
I tell them what I do
I’m helping out the group called Friends
And they say, Good on you
Val-deri, val-dera
Val-deri, val-dera
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha
Val-deri, val-dera
And they say, Good on you
I snip off all the spiky shoots
But leave the pretty flowers
For blackberries will soon appear
As long as we have showers
Val-deri, val-dera
Val-deri, val-dera
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha
Val-deri, val-dera
As long as we have showers
