September Sunday
September Sunday in the sun
Sat on Clevedon Pier
A breeze to temper morning heat
As visitors appear
St Andrew's set on Wains Hill
There to welcome all
Its tower nestled 'midst the trees
Bells ringing out their call
Distant hills in misty haze
The gig boat out in bay
With orange launch on standby
So rowers safely stay
Two plaques on bench reminders
Of those so dear to me
Forever here remembered
Above the shining sea.
