Lunch With Mayo
Lunching in Noss Mayo
The estuary here beside
A table at the old Ship Inn
Above advancing tide
Across the valley rooftops
The sound of joyful bells
A wedding celebrated
As rising water swells
Filling muddy channel
'Tween beached and scattered boats
Canoeists taking to the waves
As gulls around them float
The diners looking anxiously
To parking on the verge
Hoping meals to finish up
Before their cars submerge.
