Into The Alley of Death
Dave & Viv have doubled up
Their house in Upper Tean
It’s really rather special
A wonder to be seen
But if I go to visit them
Where once I went with Sally
I have to first negotiate
A really fearsome alley
It runs beneath a bedroom
With walls on either side
Just waiting with its jaws of brick
To scrage one’s auto pride
Oh, many souls have passed this way
And many bear the scars
Inflicted on the sides and front
Of what were pristine cars
It’s hard to run this gauntlet
And even when it’s done
The exit on a main road bend
Is there to seal the fun.
