Putin's Cop Out
They gathered up in Glasgow
To try to save the world
But where was Mr Putin
When banners were unfurled?
They spoke of coal and methane
Production to reduce
But he was in the Kremlin
In league with Belarus
We heard the cry of nations
Beset by flood and fire
But he was having secret talks
More turmoil to conspire
From Syria to Salisbury
We've seen his sordid schemes
Hanging on to total power
While crushing others' dreams
Our planet needs a vision,
Not his sheer self-interest,
Staving off extinction
By doing what is best
The history books will judge you
Uncaring Vladimir
Unlike our threatened icecaps
May you soon disappear.
